Date: 09/04/19 15:23 Re: Cartier last week Author: eminence_grise I know Fire Lake is an abandoned mine site , still with a spur. What would all Mont Wright (the active mine site) be doing with all the rock?
Haven't been there since 1992. Date: 09/04/19 16:08 Re: Cartier last week Author: TCnR Very nice.
Now I'll spend an hour on the Web trying to figure out where this is and what it means. I'll star here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartier_Railway then go to Google Maps for a while. Evidently Fire Lake was reactivated in 2006 intermittently and in 2012 continuously. https://www.transformerlavenir.com/en/facilities/amem-facilities/mining-sites-mont-wright-and-fire-lake/ From the link:"Fire Lake is an extraction mining site without a crusher or concentrator. Mining activities are carried out as at Mont-Wright but the mining equipment is smaller in size. All the raw ore from Fire Lake travels to Mont-Wright by train four times a day on average." By the way, I haven't been there since 1981. d. Date: 09/05/19 16:08 Re: Cartier last week Author: ns1000 I enjoyed the videos.
