Appreciate that information.

In my opinion, the script should be the "new" image (period).

Were the original CP diesel switchers numbered in the 7000+ series?

And the numbers 7000-700xx were always allotted to diesel demonstrators on the CPR

The plow stripes were nice, but quickly got covered with grime. CN had wide white stripes. I don't think they repainted the plows on subsequent shoppings and repaints.

Anyone have a guess at their assignments? Would they be headed to coal service like the other rebuilds?

I'm pretty sure this paint scheme originated with EMD, designed for the F units. Two other Canadian railways with probable EMD designed paint schemes, Ontario Northland, and Algoma Central.

The EMD design department designed many great paint schemes over the years.
The Santa Fe "Warbonnet" scheme being a notable example.
