Sweet summer light on some Action Red
Author: EL833

The bridges above the CN and CP lines at Port Hope, Ontario were neat places to catch a bunch of trains back in the late 80s. The CN Toronto to Montreal lines were of course busier with their freights and the VIA trains, but the CP tossed me the best power combo of the day with this one. July 8th, 1989 and three clean RS-18 rebuilds have train #921 rolling right along. Is this location still any good for photos these days ?

First-rate 3-D image. That red pops out of the image even more.

Shot is looking east from Newtonville Road overbridge. It's still shootable, but CP is few and far between in daylight.

Cool seeing the RS-18's on a train like that.

Indeed. I remember catching only 3 CPR trains that day. Is the CN side still shootable as well ?

Yes, but the tree in the field between CP and CP is gone.
Better from the south side as here (April 2015)...

That is gorgeous, and I love the trailers! The ballast looks like the Inco Sudbury slag, black, not light grey.
