GO 907 is at the east end of a westbound GO train nearing Toronto Union Station in Toronto on March 23, 1982.

F unit as a cab and HEP car I assume. They may have gotten the idea from the LIRR when they started doing that in 1971.

Good photo of late 1st Gen Go Transit service. The "FP7" power car is a nice touch. What happened to the original cars? Aren't these the ones that GOT started with?

It was originally an Ontario Northland unit and a couple were acquired from the Milwaukee Road for conversion.

A lot of these single level cars went to Montreal’s AMT……and this photo is quite a contrast to the 10 to 12 car GO Bilevel Trains you see through there now operating on mostly an every 15 minute frequency through the day.

Great image - my first trip to Toronoto was too late to see these cars.

EXO does not use them anymore. I rode them on the ONR Northlander 4 times. They rode like cinderblocks. Over 30 MPH, constant vibration and rattling, with jarring over every switch (if you thought Amfleet-1 was bad). Besides lousy shocks, Toronto subway car trucks don't help.

Doesn't help that by the time they had made it to the ONR they were way past their prime.

Nice action photo.  Conversion to HEP Control Cab gave that unit a somewhat extended stay.
Thanks for your photo posting.

Classic equipment I remember well, and your framing with the signals and tie pile is really sharp, too.
