It is quite common on westbound IMs but then most of their boxes are empty. They do happen on eastbounds that are <~350 axles but they usually will have both a mid-train remote and a tail-end remote. In the first photo, I think I see a mid-train DPU about 2/3 of the way back...but it is a 4300 hp engine up front. More tractive effort than a single steamer, so technically it should be able to do the job..........right?
