Wierd to see a single engine pulling such a long train.  I guess the new diesels are beasts.

At least 2 DPU in midttrain or at the rear.  I saw this last year in this area and had the same thought.

It is quite common on westbound IMs but then most of their boxes are empty. They do happen on eastbounds that are <~350 axles but they usually will have both a mid-train remote and a tail-end remote.

The lighter color paint really lets the details pop!  I love the look!!

In the first photo, I think I see a mid-train DPU about 2/3 of the way back...but it is a 4300 hp engine up front.  More tractive effort than a single steamer, so technically it should be able to do the job..........right?

But if you look at a ship .... which this is painted to be .... you will see that the part of the hull actually in the water is usually brown ... just like on this one.
