Tracking The Canadian
Author: stuporchief

How do the experts here reliably track the progress of The Canaidan?

I use transitdocs, but the train frequently disappears. And on the VIA web site I can't seem to get any information about the train's progress.

I'm looking forward to another Vancouver to Tortonto ride in April, with family, and would like to keep them up to date as we travel.

Thank you! Don't know why I have never stumbled acorss this.

I wish it provided more history and a projection furuther down the line, but if it's availavle all the time that is very helpful.

Thank you! I put the app on my phone and it works as you described (of course...LOL).

Do you know, by any chance, the actual dimensions of the luggage storage space in the Manor roomettes. I'll never get used to the Cabin for 1 designation.

VIA's website lists Sleeper Plus carry-on dimensions that seem ridiculously small.

I check bags and only bring on a rather small overnight bag which will fit under the seat or up above with ease.  At night, I lay out clothes for the morning putting socks/underwear in the old shoe shine locker.

Thank you.

26" x 15" x 9" sounds about right.

For four nights from Vancouver, I take everything out of the suitcase and store it in all the available nooks and crannies, then put the emtpy bag up top, not to be seen again until shortly before Toronto arrival.
