CP responds to "inaccuracies in reporting of the Field BC derail"
Author: Lackawanna484

Canadian Pacific describes what it sees as inaccuracies in the reporting of the Field BC derailment which caused the deaths of several rail employees.

CP is concerned about reporting on the CBC news network describing the roles of the Transportation Safety Board and the RCMP in the investigation.  The CP statement parses the role of the TSB and the national police force, and how the "lead investigative agency" and supporting agencies interact.  CP believes the reporting by CBC misrepresents their roles, and misrepresents CP's engagement.  CP reaffirms its continuing cooperation with all investigative agencies.

Yeah, the RCMP can investigate but did they investigate?
Or are they still waiting to asked?

How about reading the news release?  "The RCMP can investigate whatever it sees fit in Canada, and they have been involved from the very beginning."
