Big MLW Monday in Port Hawkesbury
Author: cn6218

A nicely matched quartet of C-630Ms was switching Tupper Yard in Port Hawkesbury, NS on July 17, 1996.  CBNS set off coal here for the Pt. Tupper power plant, and also picked up paper loads from the Stora mill.

I'm not sure if this was train 305 or 407 at this time.  In CN days, it was 407, and later on in the CBNS era it changed to 305, as it remains today.  Maybe ghCBNS knows when the change happened.

Nice shot..... and I remember the big '630s well.Especially seeing them climb the grade to Marshy Hope.
Sorry...don't know the date of the number change.

First-class image. The bridge and lake add to the scenic beauty.

That’s raw Alco/MLW Power!  If only the hogger would have made a little smoke!
