Canadian Railroads > On The Lighter Side...

In downtown Toronto, when you get tired of the endless parade of look-alike GO and VIA trains, Roundhouse Park is a nice distraction.  Home to the Toronto Railway Museum, one of it's main features is Canadian Pacific's old John Street Roundhouse, which is seen here from the CN Tower.  They also have a miniature railroad that runs through the park, although on this day it didn't really co-operate with me.  Then again, it's not every day a derailment happens right in front of you.

Looks more like ballast rock in the crossing flangeway right at the leading edge of the crossing. We've had that happen at our track in Windsor, NS.
