A nice pair !
Author: CCMF

OSRX 1401 WEST ("St.Thomas") Ontario Southland's St.Thomas Subdivision can be a challenge to photograph. The roads are a grid and the track is basically diagonal across them, and given when this job normally runs, light can be tough to work with. When CP owned it, it was pretty much impossible to chase a train, but today you can get a couple of bonus shots if you know where to go. This is my favourite spot and it's between Gladstone and Belmont, Ontario shot from Dorchester Road just north of Harrietsville Road, looking west. How many places can you still shoot F-units in regular freight service ? Well, IMHO, none that look as good as these ones.

That looks like a covered hopper of salt from the mine at Goderich.

Why do these units carry "OSRX" reporting marks?  Isn't the Ontario Southern a common-carrier railroad?  Why the "X"?
