Can you ID this CN excursion steamer?
Author: BobE

Begging your indulgence. I have an unlabeled slide, other than the date, 1975, but the photo is just a bit blurry and I can't tell what engine I'm looking at. Only thing I'm sure of is that it isn't 6060.

Never mind.  It's been identified as 6060, only engine running in 1975.  I'd only seen it streamlined and apparently I need new glasses because the frigging thing is streamlined.

Now that the loco has been identified, can the location be recognized?

A couple of guesses.....

The right-of-way looks like 'newer' construction......maybe on the York or Halton Subs around MacMillan Yard?

Or:

In the mid '70s....CN was operating scheduled trains with 6060 to Niagara Falls and they did a side trip to Yegar on new track constructed as part of a line relocation for the Welland Canal ?
