Monochrome Monday - CP Past the Agricore Elevator at Carstairs
Author: feclark

I was nervous when I saw photobob had a Jasper post, figuring there'd be a B&W shot to stack up against. Sigh of relief. This is from June 29, 2001, at Carstairs, Alberta, on CP's Red Deer Sub. This NB held the siding at Crump, immediately south of town, while a SB cleared under a shaft of sunlight at 2040. The sun sunk behind the cloud, so I switched cameras to catch 8517 and 8564 in charge of an intermodal train at 2045 (as you know, CP identifies trains by lead unit, not train number, so I have no clue). I was fortunate that this was set up for the going-away shot; the nose door was wide open. The film is T-Max 100, but I didn't record any settings, which is not my usual style. Not sure why.
