about typing out the word "GEOMETRY" so everyone knows what the subject is? Sorry but this is a pet peeve of mine--I constantly see abbreviations being used that make no sense. It's so easy to be clear and precise; why not try it? Keith Robertson Langley, BC Date: 02/28/21 12:51 Re: CP Track Geo train at Revelstoke 2/25/21 Author: JPB “BC”? 😎

I tend to agree with you ... and a pox on those smartasses who responded about BC abbreviation! Will MacKenzie Dundas, ON Date: 02/28/21 14:13 Re: CP Track Geo train at Revelstoke 2/25/21 Author: JPB So I posted those screen captures because I thought some rail fans might enjoy seeing this somewhat uncommon occurrence. I didn’t anticipate that somebody would ignore my motive to share information and be upset by my short hand use of “track geo”, which in my experience is a frequently used term in the rail fan trade (although the RR personnel often call it a “TEC Train”). But apologies for my lame attempt to diffuse the reaction with a bit of humor - around Boston where I live, BC equates to Boston College ( we Bostonians can be very provincial!). But I’ve been to the Canadian BC a few times and enjoyed its scenic beauty from Victoria to Vancouver to Kicking Horse Pass. Plus British Columbia has much better RR activity than the Boston area has. Time to move on...

Much complaint about nothing... JG (initials of my name) Posted from Android Date: 02/28/21 20:34 Re: CP Track Geo train at Revelstoke 2/25/21 Author: LKeithR jgilmore Wrote:

But my comment really was about the trend today towards the use of obscure abbreviations when it takes virtually no extra effort to type out the correct word and be precise and accurate...
