Sandstone Saturday in Amherst, NS
Author: cn6218

From July 28, 2001, two Dash 8-40CMs, one from each of CN's two orders, power train 137 past the Amherst VIA station in northwestern Nova Scotia.  137 carried intermodal and "junk" traffic out of Halifax, and usually left Rockingham about the time VIA 14 was arriving.  This provided some good late afternoon sun angles, particularly during the longer days of the year.  On this day it was 18:45 as the train passed Amherst. Moncton, and the crew change, would be about an hour to the west.

I like the lead C40 with the CNNA scheme. Depot a definite cherry on top.

So many nice elements, and that strong early evening light is the best.
