Updates on BC rail connections?
Author: Railpax71

CBC Vancouver at 6pm had no updates on rail. Tragedy is loss of livestock in the Fraser and Sumas basin. How about updates on restoration of rail?

"Walter Spracklin, a Royal Bank of Canada stock analyst, said CN executives told him the railway will not be repaired before this weekend and could be out until next week."

CP is sending traffic through Portland up the UP Columbia river line. CN through Pronce Rupert seems to be fine, not sure if they are sending traffic over BNSF.

Those piers are impressive. Is that typical construction of such a bridge, or is that massive subgrade pier only because of that specific terrain?

Suspect those are pilings driven into the ground before the concrete went in.

Also suspect that's where my truck blew the transmission main pump way back in 1980 something. There's a lot of terra firma missing.

A pity there's not a way to quickly set another bridge pier to the left of the existing two and reduce the bottleneck on the T.C.H.  A lot fo work to be done here but I'm sure we'll be surprised how quickly they make it happen.
