Canadian Railroads > Today's "Ocean" CancelledDate: 11/21/21 06:41 Today's "Ocean" Cancelled Author: DrawingroomA Due to expected severe weather in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, today's Ocean has been cancelled. I suppose "postponed by 24 hours" would be more accurate as #14 will operate Monday. VIA warns that further changes could happen depending on the weather forecast.
My friends and I have re-booked for next week. As usual, the Moncton call centre staff have been very efficient. Horrendous weather hit the eastern part of Nova Scotia and south-western Newfoundland. It could have easily hit the Halifax area. If VIA had not postponed #14 and the storm had been a little further west - as was predicted by Environment Canada, not a rumour - there could have been a serious issue. Many questions could be asked as to why VIA operated a train under those circumstances. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/flooding-cape-breton-guysborough-storm-1.6260477 https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/davey-fraser-parks-canada-employee-1.6261225 |
