Three Days in July at Moirs Mill Pond
Author: cn6218

I was at DeWolfe Park, on the Bedford, NS waterfront for three successive days in early July.  On July 6, CN sent train Q123 west at 10:28 that morning.  The foggy weather allowed a perspective that otherwise would have been badly back lit when the train departed.  ET44AC 3224 and ES44AC 3888, both in CN's 100th anniversary scheme, were the power for this train.

At 10:52 the next morning, Z120, powered by the Tier 4 trio of 3181, 3008 and 3276, was going the opposite direction at the same location, about 3 miles west of Rockingham Yard.  Although 3008 has CN reporting marks, it wears the Illinois Central "heritage" scheme, some 23 years after the "merger" between CN and IC.

At 10:22 on July 8th, that day's version of Z120 was also nearing Rockingham, this time with a venerable GP40-2L behind GEs 2896, 3186 and 3209.  9411 stayed in Rockingham only briefly, and may have gone over to Dartmouth to work the locals there.

Nice location. Proof that a cloudy day can still yield good results.

That's the difference between a photographer and a picture taker. A photographer knows how to deal with other then perfect conditions.
A picture taker just whines about it and takes no pictures.

No question in my mind, Geoff is a photographer.
