Canadian Railroads > CN's New 2700sDate: 09/22/22 16:34 CN's New 2700s Author: cn6218 CN continues to purchase "previously enjoyed" motive power from Citi Leasing, with the most recent ES44ACs renumbered into the 2750 series. 2700 to 2727 are Dash-9s, and most of those actually have Illinois Central reporting marks.
The "new" power is gradually making its way out east, and on September 10, two different examples were on trains in Nova Scotia. 511, the gypsum turn, had 2757 leading Dash-9 IC 2708 at Wellington, with the empty train at 09:29 that morning. An hour and a half later, Z120 arrived in Bedford (mile 9.5), with a trio of ES44ACs, 3979, 3824, and most recently acquired 2752 trailing. Z120 often gets held at mile 7 so the yard crews can make space, but this day there was no waiting as they pulled onto the yard ladder from the Transfer Track at Birch Cove (mile 6.5). JG Date: 09/22/22 22:04 Re: CN's New 2700s Author: PHall CN brought them because they got a good deal on them. Only a couple of years old but at a greatly reduced price compared to a new unit.

The IC units are 2698 - 2726. 2727 and above are CN. Date: 09/25/22 17:04 Re: CN's New 2700s Author: ns1000 mttrainman1 Wrote:

IC 2726 was actually the last one ordered (serial number 55146, built October 2004), but CN 2667 (s/n 53871) was wrecked in July 2004, rebuilt and reinstated as of April 2005, getting the next number in the series, but retaining its CN reporting mark.
