Canadian Railroads > My CPR Slides 133-Christmas 1974Date: 11/22/22 09:13 My CPR Slides 133-Christmas 1974 Author: CNStratford Christmas Eve 1974-Medonte ON-a complicated junction just west of Orillia ON-Operator doing his job-happy young woman arrives
Disguntled CPR employee grimaces as he goes to get orders - nice uniform though - even if his Christmas may be ruined. ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 11/22/22 13:22 Re: My CPR Slides 133-Christmas 1974 Author: feclark Bob,
Nice scenes. Would you be able to tell us a bit about the context of Medonte, and why it's complicated, please? Fred Date: 11/22/22 15:34 Re: My CPR Slides 133-Christmas 1974 Author: krm152 All photos are interesting from a different perspective.
They certain show people in three different emotional states. Thanks for continuing your CP series. ALLEN Date: 11/28/22 15:02 Re: My CPR Slides 133-Christmas 1974 Explanation Author: CNStratford All of this is near Coldwater ON
Just to the left of the operator is the panel showing 1)CNR Orillia to Midland line crossing CPR line to Sudbury and CPR Orillia to Port McNicoll line 2)CPR line Orillia to Port McNicoll line crossing CPR line to Sudbury 3)Junction from CPR Sudbury line to Port McNicoll line. In the seventies CPR gave up on trestle across Hogg Bay and used the CNR line. They also stopped going into Orillia.. CPR had trackage rights Port McNicoll to Midland even before. The current Google image shows that the former CPR line is now a trail which shows up more than the still operating CPR line to Sudbury. Edited 1 time(s).
