Canadian Railroads > VIA Rail Black Friday Sale until November 29Date: 11/22/22 16:46 VIA Rail Black Friday Sale until November 29 Author: Jimbo The VIA Rail Black Friday Sale started today - 25 % off most fares, including Sleeper Plus on the Canadian and Ocean. Use discount code VIA2022. From December 1 to April 14 or 16 on non-corridor trains; December 1 to February 28 only on certain corridor trains.

Date: 11/23/22 03:27 Re: VIA Rail Black Friday Sale until November 29 Author: DrawingroomA The biggest difference I noticed was the 25% discount for corridor trains. This year it applies only to trains departing before 8:00 a.m. or after 6:00 p.m. It is still a good deal for the Canadian and the Ocean.

I've been waiting for the Black Friday deals for my April trip. I have enough poimts but need the 25% deal for my wife. And I am also excited and it is only November! DrawingroomA, do you recall which way the car numbers are now? I want to be close to the Sleeper Skyline. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/25/22 12:17 by viatrainrider. The sleeper line numbers change order between peak and off-peak season. Currently the car closest to the Sleeper Class Skyline & dining car is 10. The numbering goes forward. Currently there are only three sleepers so the furthest from the diner is 12. Peak season can be defined not by firm dates on the calendar but by the number of sleepers and the operation of a second diner. Those dates are flexible according to demand, but generally peak season starts near the end of April and runs to near the end of October. VIA may want to look into adding more than just three sleepers to the Canadian consist as there are a LOT of dates sold out (on a train that operates twice per week that is) in December and early January (Christmas and New Year's). Is one car preferable to another as to booking the room? Thanks! Date: 11/29/22 05:01 Re: VIA Rail Black Friday Sale until November 29 Author: petmew tlh32399 Wrote:

Thanks! Not sure about the car, but I've read unit/bedroom F is the bigger cabin for two. Date: 11/29/22 10:06 Re: VIA Rail Black Friday Sale until November 29 Author: Jimbo petmew Wrote:

The Canadian has the Manor sleepers, and Room F was originally a compartment; the other "Cabins for two" were double bedrooms. Date: 11/30/22 06:53 Re: VIA Rail Black Friday Sale until November 29 Author: DrawingroomA As indicated in my previous posting, in the off-peak period the sleeper closest to the dining car is 10 and the furthest away is 12, although there could be more sleepers which would be 13, etc. The sleeper after the diner is a crew sleeper, therefore line # 0000, then Prestige (30) and the Park car (39).
I no longer talk suggest to people that they book the much-loved cabin "F". It is getting increasingly difficult for those of us I may call "regular travellers" to get it. Date: 12/01/22 06:39 Re: VIA Rail Black Friday Sale until November 29 Author: tlh32399 I booked April 2 from Vancouver to Toronto in Sleeper Plus, cabin for two. The agent told me we could only access
the Park car after 4 PM but elsewhere I had read that the Park car was open all the time if it was not high season. Where do I get a definite answer to this? Thanks! |
