Canadian Railroads > MLW Monday in Hantsport, NSDate: 01/16/23 08:03 MLW Monday in Hantsport, NS Author: cn6218 It was August 28, 2003 and the wayfreight from New Minas, hauled by RS-23s 8026 and 8019, was passing between the station and RS-23 8046, working the dumper at Hantsport. 8046 was the highest numbered RS-23 on both the Windsor & Hantsport and on Canadian Pacific, although it was the only unit repainted from action red, and was one of the last to receive ditch lights and other leader equipment, so most of my photos of it are as a middle unit in the consist, or working as the switcher here. Fundy Gypsum used their own 45-ton GE to switch the dumper in CP days, but when WHRC took over they supplied the motive power, but it was operated by the gypsum company's employees.
