Canadian Railroads > Signal SundayDate: 05/21/23 12:57 Signal Sunday Author: hoggerdoug Well, that is one way to spot an approaching train !! Late June 1972 at Burlington, Ontario a gaggle of railfans gathered to photograph a west bound Erie Lackawanna "detour" train on the CN Oakville sub. For a week or so there were numerous detour trains re-routed through Canada account damages in the eastern USA caused by Hurricane Agnes. Anyhow, the fellow on the signal tower was a CN employee although on his days off and spending the day railfanning. My trusty "Kodak Instamatic" captured the image of the "train spotter" and EL 3612 heading west on the CN Oakville sub. Wonder how his photo turned out from that vantage point???
