MLW Monday - Train Time and a Meet at Smiths Falls

On June 3, 1978, CN FPA-4 6783 in charge of Ottawa to Toronto train #45, is stopped for passengers at Smiths Falls, ON, at 1747. Waiting for the action to clear, before pulling up for its crew change, is CP #903, behind SD40-2 5768, 5671, 5700, and C-630M 4502. Although it may seem odd for two westbounds to be facing in opposite directions, it's a function of how #45 got to Toronto from Ottawa via Smiths Falls and Brockville.

It's a wonderful pic.  From that angle the FPA looks big and in charge.  I've loved the FA family of engines since I was a kid and got a toy FA.  I still have my old Kusan FA.
