Trestle Tuesday - CP RDC-5 Over the Rideau River
Author: feclark

A few days before the end of CP train #132 (VIA rail took over passenger service on October 29), CP RDC-5 9308 steps out onto the trestle over the Rideau River on October 25, 1978, at 0830. I'm on the campus of Carleton University in Ottawa, and the Budd car is exiting Vincent Massey Park.

What is a RDC-5?
I know of RDC 1-4 cars.

In my simple understanding, it's an RDC-2 that's had the baggage compartment replaced by seating. You can see the non-fluted blank that fills the space the door used to occupy.
