             Immpossible to run a passenger train in weather such as this  !   Amtrak has proven it, you can't even get the equipment out of the barn. Engines won't run; wheels won't turn, nothing.

And that was the steam heat days when VIA and CN crews had to roll dice at times to get the trains back into working order - let alone running on-time. But they did !!!!

Thawing out the steam line drips in 30 below, so that the train would again have heat and could proceed.  Then it would take about an hour and your passenger car was again comfortable and warm.
