Canadian Railroads > Junk Up FrontDate: 05/08/24 08:20 Junk Up Front Author: cn6218 CN train Z120 was nearing mile 16 of the Bedford Sub in Windsor Jct., back on April 1st, 2024. While you can't see the two other AC GEs up front, 3863 and 3056, I can assure you they didn't look much different from 3060 leading. What was somewhat unusual was the empty rail cars and asphalt tankers marshaled at the front of the train. Junk, if there is any on the train, is usually buried somewhere in the middle. Non-intermodal cars for Halifax, if they are on the train at all, are almost always added at Moncton, and would have come off M306 from Toronto, so it would seem that adding them at the head end would be easier for the crew.
