one shot or saturation coverage?
Author: loleta

CN train 546 covers 40 miles each way on its round-trip between North Vancouver and Squamish. On a single trip, I'd say you can photograph the train in 7 or 8 locations in either direction (including the shots at both ends). Or if you hike in somewhere, you may only get 1. Here is a selection of both kinds:
1. Southbound at Britannia on May 13. This is a quick stop, and a view I never tire of.
2. May 15: on the lead to the Squamish docks, and another easy shot.
3. A bit north of Britannia on May 14, and only a short walk.

And here are some "one and done" photos:
4. Southbound at mile 35 on May 14.
5. Northbound at Deeks, May 15.
6. Southbound north of Furry Creek, May 15.

Great set.  Always a tradeoff, take the shot you already have or go for something new that can end the chase.

Personally I'd never tire of those views.

I'm a sucker for harbor scenes, so that first one's got my vote. But I'm also a geologist, so the last few with the rock cuts have my attention.

I've always regretted not getting up there before the CN takeover.

Nice pix!
