Canadian Railroads > The Summit of Notch HillDate: 08/28/24 13:55 The Summit of Notch Hill Author: BoostedFridge Westbound CPKC marine doublestack train #149 with some bonus autoracks on the head end, approaches the summit of Notch Hill, BC on the north track, while the midtrain DPU of eastbound manifest #200 passes on the south. The two locomotives at the front, and midtrain DPU of #149 are working hard to carry their 188 wells and cars over the last major grade on their westbound journey from Chicago, IL to the Deltaport terminal at Roberts Bank, BC. The north main was built in 1979, part of a larger project involving four major grade revisions in BC and AB to reduce the westbound ruling grade to 1%.
