Canadian Railroads > A Couple "Bigs" for MLW MondayDate: 09/02/24 10:59 A Couple "Bigs" for MLW Monday Author: cn6218 It was a gloomy day in December, 1994 when I decided to finish off a roll of Kodachrome that I had started earlier that month. M-636 2332 and C-630M 2023 were sitting on the boulevard at the Fairview Roundhouse in Halifax, waiting to go out on a train later that day. Although the big MLWs were not preferred leaders by this date, 2332 does appear to be equipped with ditch lights, at least. The Fairview roundhouse itself had been demolished years earlier, but a few brick buildings did remain, including the power house in behind 2023 and a lower stores and office building to the right. The remaining buildings were destroyed in a fire about four years ago and now only the turntable itself and the shop tracks remain.
