Canadian Railroads > Bras d'Or TuesdayDate: 10/29/24 09:58 Bras d'Or Tuesday Author: cn6218 Tuesday was the day of the eastbound Bras d'Or's summertime trips to Sydney in 2000-2004. On one of the last excursions, September 14, 2004, Banff Park was carrying the markers as the train passed the former station site in New Glasgow. The VIA stations here and in Stellarton were combined into one new structure on the grounds of the Museum of Industry in 1988, less than two years before VIA ended all regular service on this line to Sydney. Conventional equipment was a rarity on these routes, and domes would have been unheard of, until the five summers that the Bras d'Or operated. For some historical views, do a search on posts from the late ghCBNS. He grew up in the area, and took plenty of pictures.

I was in Halifax at least two to three times a year from 2002 to 2004 and I had finally carved out time to take the Bras d'Or in 2005, but then got the news that it was being pulled when going to make a reservation in Q1 2005.
