Canadian Railroads > MLW Monday in Hantsport, NSDate: 11/18/24 08:11 MLW Monday in Hantsport, NS Author: cn6218 RS-23 8034 had finished emptying the first train of the day (on right, in yard), and had now coupled onto 8 loads the gypsum train had just delivered and was about to haul them into the dumper at Fundy Gypsum's facility in Hantsport, NS on August 18, 2005. Although 8034 was owned by the Windsor & Hantsport, the work of dumping the train was always done by the Fundy Gypsum employees. In DAR days they used their own GE 45-tonner, but switched to the MLW after WHRC took over from CP.
The WHRC had recently placed 4 GP9RMs in service, and the RS-23s weren't too long for this world. Most were scrapped in the Spring of 2006, with 8036 hanging on for another year or so, working the dumper here. GTD Date: 11/18/24 10:45 Re: MLW Monday in Hantsport, NS Author: 3rdswitch Very cool.
