Canadian Railroads > Crazy wreck on the CN outside of Winnipeg

Took me a little bit to piece together what happened here on the southeast side of Winnipeg Friday afternoon. A lumber truck heading northeast on the Perimeter Highway left the roadway at the eastbound on-ramp to the Trans-Canada Highway passing through a gap in the guardrail. The truck landed on a westbound moving empty CN grain train and derailed it. The tractor of the semi truck was carried ontop of the derailing cars under the overpass until the train came to stop. Driver survived with just minor injuries. Ice was being blamed in the mishap.
