On-Track Brush Cutters
Author: poshell

I'm new to TO and slowly going through the posts and pics (especially MoW Work Equipment).
Saw this post
Change of Pace - MoW Monday.   and thought I'd add to it with some pics of my own. (Your shots of the brush cutter at Copetown are great. Thanks for snapping all four sides.)
CN 689-19 Class Code 3HA is a Pyke Mfg. model BC 60 on-track brushcutter, serial number 8613, built in 1986 at the Pyke plant in Oshawa, ON.
It was delivered new to CN at their Danforth Work Equipment shop in Toronto, ON September 30, 1986.https://cdn.trainorders.com/attachments/fullsize/1825000/CN_689_19_3HA_Pyke_BC_60_on_flat_car_CN_40250_Transcona_MB_December_11_2002_Paul_O_Shell_photo_6773798aab311.jpg

That post predates my arrival on TO, so it was nice to be directed back to it. I recall an episode on CP's Winchester Sub in the late 80s, when some enthusiastic employee took out some cables and the signal system was down.

The yellow painted unit is CN 689-09 Class Code 3HA Pyke Mfg. BC 60 brushcutter, s/n 8402, built in 1984 (delivered new to Moncton, NB March 6, 1984)

Both photos were taken at CN's Transcona Work Equipment Repair Facility in Winnipeg, MB on December 11, 2002.
