Canadian Railroads > Fallen Flag FridayDate: 01/03/25 08:12 Fallen Flag Friday Author: moonliter Every Holiday Season a couple of railfan friends and I would do some sort of rail circle tour out of Ottawa. The 1986-1987 trip took us Ottawa-Sudbury-Toronto-Brockville-Ottawa with lots of time to wander at the different transfer points. We wandered over to CP Rail's John Street roundhouse and came upon a cut of TH&B GP7s & GP9s. Two days earlier, on January 1st, 1987, CP Rail had acquired 100% ownership of the TH&B. The good news however the units did survive although the TH&B colours would be replaced by CP "Action Red" The GP7s became CP 1682-1687, the GP9s CP 1688-1690 after being rebuilt by their new owner.
