East Coast Visit for a BC Rail Dash-9
Author: cn6218

BC Rail Dash-9 4646 spent a few days working L508/507, the Moncton/Dartmouth/Moncton manifest, last week.  4646 and AC44C6M 3328 are shown passing the VIA station in Truro, NS at 09:31 on January 6.  In a few minutes they would back into the Truro Yard from the Springhill Sub, and then about an hour later be on their way to Moncton again with additional cars from Truro and the CBNS.

L507 was only about 4000 tons leaving Truro, and they went under me on Folly Mt. (2nd image) at pretty close to passenger train speed.  Freights are usually grinding up the 1.5% grade here.

Finally, at 10:57, they cruised past the new LED signals at the west end of Folly Lake siding, near mile 25 of the Springhill Sub.  The engineer was taking full advantage of the extra cornering lights in the gloomy weather we've been having for most of January.

All great but there's something special about the third shot.

I agree, Gerry. Maybe it's the way it's got a B&W vibe that bleeds into colour moving to the right.
