Clearing the Track in Bible Hill
Author: cn6218

Ballast regulator 618-85 was tidying up the track in Bible Hill, NS 10 years ago today.  The switch at mile 1.44 of the Springhill Sub leads to the Stella Jones (formerly Domtar) wood treating facility where utility poles and railway ties are creosoted.  There was once crossover here as well as the spur, and the odd jog in the track remains even though the old south track is gone.  Bible Hill is a suburb of Truro, NS on the north side of the Salmon River.

Paul mentioned that 618-85 was delivered in 1996, which got me wondering about the LED headlights just above the plow.  That seems early to me for LEDs.  Are they original or retrofits?

That Craig high-speed V-plow makes for a great nose on that old Pyke Mfg. snow fighter. Fabulous shot!

Pardon me for not answering this inquiry earlier.
The 4" X 6" rectangular lights at the cab roof level are Hobb's Halogen lights that the machine was delivered with when new.
The L.E.D. lights mounted to the top of the front plow were add-ons at a much later date.  J.W. Speaker is a commonly spec'd l.e.d. light on Work Equipment delievered to Canadian railroads.
