Canadian Railroads > MLW Monday Moncton DeadlineDate: 03/24/25 13:47 MLW Monday Moncton Deadline Author: cn6218 On an overcast April 8, 1996 I stopped in at the CN Gordon Yard diesel shop, just outside Moncton, NB. As expected, I found the place awash in MLWs, but the future for these two (and a number of others) was as gloomy as the weather that day. The numberboards had been removed, useful parts like traction motors and bells (although strangely, not the horn on 2308) had been removed, and the next stop for these M-636s would be Tri-Province Metals scrap yard on the east side of Moncton. Holes have been cut in the fuel tanks of 2308 to remove residual fuel and 2328's tanks have been stenciled to that effect as well.
