Such an amazing trip with near perfect weather! I'm not sure what I liked better, the mountain scenery or the train action.

Great that that access to the outside is allowed on a mainline passenger train!

This isn't Amtrak so yes you can be on the open platform.

Hi, Could you say which train you were on please? Looks like the CP route going Bamff to Vancouver?
Though platforms have been on the Gold Leaf  class cars from way back.Great photos thanks.

Your phone camera videos are quite good!  I'm glad you enjoyed your trip!

In case you wanted some location and train info for your videos:

Video 1)  Travelling westbound at Watmore BC, MP 102 CPKC Shuswap Sub.  Meeting eastbound train #400-14, Coquitlam-Calgary manifest
Video 2) Travelling westbound at Field BC, ~MP 0.5 CPKC Mountain Sub.  Meeting eastbound train #200-14, Coquitlam-Edmonton priority manifest.
Video 4) Travelling westbound at Glacier BC, MP85.5 CPKC Mountain Sub, after just exiting the Connaught Tunnel.  Meeting eastbound train #302, Coquitlam-? grain empties.
Video 5) Travelling westbound on the CN Ashcroft Sub, somewhere between Basque and Spences Bridge, BC.
Video 6) Travelling westbound on the CN Yale Sub, between Rosedale and Chilliwack, BC.
Video 7) Travelling westbound over the Sumas River bridge, MP78.8 CN Yale Sub.

Your guess was correct. We did the Banff to Vancouver route. The Jasper route was closed due to fire.
