European Railroad Discussion > Mariazellerbahn 1099 E-Loks QuestionsDate: 04/19/14 02:52 Mariazellerbahn 1099 E-Loks Questions Author: birdman I am hoping that someone in Austria can answer a few questions.
1. Have any 1099 E-Loks been saved for possible occasional use by Novog on the Marizellerbahn? 2. Have any 1099 Loks gone to museums? If so, where? 3. Where are the 1099 Loks that have been saved stored? Are they in the new depot at Laubenbachmuehle? The old depot at St. Poelten Alpine Bahnhof? At Obergrabendorf? 4. Are the 1099 Loks that have been saved used on Sonderzugs on the Mariazellerbahn? If so, when? I have had the good fortune to visit and ride the Marizellerbahn on two occasions. I spent a wonderful day in October 2002 with Eisenbahnfreunde Mariazellerbahn on a double-headed excursion to Mariazell and a two day visit in 2009 riding behind and photographing the 1099 Loks. Those historic and wonderful locomotives are among my favorites and, it goes without saying, that the Marizellerbahn line is a treasure that should not be missed by any serious european railfan. not being a specialist on the Mariazellerbahn, I just want tow throw in my two cents of knowledge I have > 1. Have any 1099 E-Loks been saved for possible > occasional use by Novog on the Marizellerbahn? Yes, at least one unit remains there for the occasional use on the Ötscherbär-Express. According to a news-release of the NÖVOG, this should be the units 1099.07 and 1099.10 > 2. Have any 1099 Loks gone to museums? If so, > where? I know of one unit, the 1099.02, which was given to the Technikmuseum Wien (Vienna). > 3. Where are the 1099 Loks that have been saved > stored? Are they in the new depot at > Laubenbachmuehle? The old depot at St. Poelten > Alpine Bahnhof? At Obergrabendorf? Sorry, no idea! > 4. Are the 1099 Loks that have been saved used on > Sonderzugs on the Mariazellerbahn? If so, when? The Ötscherbär-Express is scheduled for one train-pair on Saturdays starting June 1st, 2014 until autumn and the timetable says it's using the class 1099. See also my answer to question 1. Hope this helps a bit! E111 Date: 04/20/14 11:57 Re: Mariazellerbahn 1099 E-Loks Questions Author: birdman Many thanks E111. I appreciate the updated information. Very helpful. Thanks again.
