B1 4-6-0 61306 Mayflower - mid week outing
Author: 86235

Mayflower's been busy this week, after Saturday's shortish run from Southend to Southall (less than 50 miles) and it's Sunday Easterling train from London to Lowestoft and back (250 miles), today it was bound for York on another of Steam Dreams' Cathedrals Express workings, a round trip of almost 400 miles.

It left King's Cross at 07:25, I shot it passing Harringay, running on the Down Slow 1 track. As you can see a few seconds later and it would have been bowled by Virgin Trains East Coast's 07:30 King's Cross to Edinburgh, which was accelerating to 90 mph on the Down Fast.

You can, that 91 on the 07:30 nearly did for us.
