LKAB Sweden/Norway Electrics & Rebuilds

Anyone who thinks European railways are dinky compared to North American standards need to check out Sweden's/Norway's LKAB electrics...

68 car ore trains pulled by pairs of Bombardier electrics thru the mountains... The road even had EMD's, now rebuilt with Cummins prime movers.

It's not all crap ....

In a cave, under a glacier...

I agree there's something very muscular in their simplicity, very understated but the power is impossible to miss

I love these things Yeti...Thanks for takin the time to post these photos... A buddy of ours from Sweden posts lots of photos in a facebook RR group we belong to featuring these guys... They are "real" locomotives... As i remember these guys are 6400 HP each... A 2 unit set is 12,800... That's three new dash 9's in good shape... Electric traction is where it's at...
