European Railroad Discussion > Belgium Train CrashDate: 06/06/16 02:37 Belgium Train Crash Author: andersonb109 According to BBC News, a passenger train has run into the back of a goods train in Belgium resulting in 3 fatalities. No reason given why both were on the same track at the same time and location although some sort of electrical malfunction in the signals is suspected. All three deaths and most of the injuries occurred in the first carriage of the train. Another good reason not to sit there. But if the first car is the only first class car or sleeper on a train and that's what you've reserved and paid for, you have no choice.

Date: 06/07/16 18:21 Re: Belgium Train Crash Author: PHall BBC World Service said that there had been lightning strikes and that the signals had been knocked out for a while.
They also said that they were told that there may have been some signal system damage. Date: 06/08/16 17:26 Re: Belgium Train Crash Author: mundo |
