The Schull and Skibbereen (or West Carberry Tramway) was a 3' gauge roadside steam railway in West Cork, Ireland. It opened in 1884 and closed in 1947. For most of its independent life it had to be subsidised by the local ratepayers (property tax). Taken over by the Great Southern Railways in 1925 and CIE in 1945, it succumbed in 1947. No one was surprised.

What is surprising perhaps is that almost 70 years after its passing the 12 arch stone viaduct which carried the railway over an arm of Roaringwater Bay at Ballydehob is still intact. This is it this afternoon.

Very neat!!! Is it open to pedestrians, bicycles, or automobiles?

Pedestrians, possibly cyclists. Definitely not cars.
