Here are three images of the now-retired VR Sm1 EMU cars. Ffity pair were built between 1968 and 1973, and refurbished between 1994 and 2000. There is a wikipedia page for VR Class Sm1.

The corrugated side panels look (to a western European) to be typically Russian, (although of course widely copied in China).
