European Railroad Discussion > Austrian tunnelDate: 09/12/17 23:20 Austrian tunnel Author: MEKoch West of Vienna is a long tunnel, perhaps 7" long at high speed, so 10 miles long? The area is not mountainous. Is it cut and cover for high speed purposes? Tullerfeld is on the west end.
Thank you for your help. Posted from iPhone Date: 09/13/17 05:49 Re: Austria: Innsbruck- Bludenz Author: MEKoch Rode this segment this afternoon. Fascinating. Single track for about 40 km. We met no one except the eb counterpart at Bludenz. Speed: 50-75 kmh in mtns. Then 140-150 in the valley flats. Several long tunnels thru mtns. Fabulous scenery. Nice Lunch in Rail Jet Cafe. All in all I recommend the train.
