European Railroad Discussion > streetcar tuesdayDate: 10/24/17 10:21 streetcar tuesday Author: boiler77 For now two weeks ago I went to Naumburg in Germany. There is the smallest streetcar line in Germany with vintage cars. Length is 1.5mi only. The cars are running 7 days a week around the day.
All pics are taken along the Marienring and the Theaterplatz stop. Naumburg is a pretty city with the famous lutherian cathedral, home of the Uta. The city is surrounded from the Saale und Unstrut River valley with vineyards. Phil from Berlin, Germany Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/24/17 10:22 by boiler77. Being a Lutheran I will have to look into your mentioning the cathedral there. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Date: 10/24/17 12:38 Re: streetcar tuesday Author: 86235 Very nice, what's the history of the cars, are they built by Gotha?
Date: 10/24/17 13:59 Re: streetcar tuesday Author: boiler77 This one #51 was built in Berlin Schoeneweide in the 1960ies on older carriages.
It look similar to a Gotha car. I show you a Gotha car pic to compare. The Naumburg streetcar company is all vintage car operation granted trough a special donation of the regional government. Pics was taken on rainy August 3rd in 2010. Phil Date: 10/24/17 14:03 Re: streetcar tuesday Author: boiler77 The main differece of this two models are in the door and window arrangement and the Schoeneweide car is a little bit taller.
