Helsinki to Vladivostok-Part 9

Picture 1-Komsomolskaya Square. The large building is a Hilton hotel.
Picture 2 and 3 showing the ornate stations of the Moscow Underground.
Each day we would get a "Day Pass" and have free rein on the transit system.

Wow, I knew Moscow's subway was a point of pride, but that doesn't look like Stalin-era architecture to me. When was that subway built?

Photo 2 is Prospekt Mira (Mira Blvd.) on the 5 & 6 Lines.
Photo 3 is Novoslobodskaya on the 5 Line (an smaller circumferential line inside the large Line 14 loop).
Both opened January 1952.
