Of course things such as assignments and such are not static. In addition to the ÖBB, there is now coverage of the other Private Operators who work in Austria, some Austrian companies and some like PKP Cargo(Polish National Railways). In addition ÖBB has serious competition for passenger traffic between Vienna(Wien) and Salzburg, by a company called Westbahn. Make sure if you buy this book to buy the most recent edition as I see older editions available on Amazon's website which don't make clear what edition it is they are selling. Don't forget to check out Amazon for books https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=Austrian+Railways check out both pages. Best source for Railway maps on western European Railways. Schweers + Wall Verlag AG http://www.schweers-wall.de/atlas_osterreich.html A great source of videos focused on Austrian Railways "FHP AudioVisual" http://www.tickettoride.co.uk/ Austrian Railways section http://www.tickettoride.co.uk/austrianrailwaydocumentaries.html plus their Cab Ride Videos http://www.tickettoride.co.uk/austriancabrides.html Also they have short samples of their videos on You Tube to check out "Tickettoriderailway" Any questions just ask. I don't follow Austrian Railways as closely as I follow Swiss Railways, but I will try and answer any questions you may have. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/02/18 16:34 by SOO6617. Date: 02/02/18 23:55 Re: Austria Author: 86235 In the 1960s British publisher David & Charles published a series of Railway Holidays in... books one of which was about Austria. They are still available through second hand dealers like Robert Humm. No idea of the quality of the writer, they were each written by different authors. Might be worth seeking out for a historic point-in-time view of Austrian railways.
Date: 02/03/18 20:10 Re: Austria Author: tq-07fan I'm glad you posted that link to Platform 5, I had forgot about them really. I needed a book about British Trams for a show I have to put together in the next couple months for a group here in Cincinnati. The other books I ordered I needed too, I guess...
