European Railroad Discussion > PTC Equivilent Systems in EuropeDate: 02/15/18 14:28 PTC Equivilent Systems in Europe Author: wabash2800 Because U.S. railroads are soon to required to have Positive Train Control Systems in place in most cases, I'm curious about the equivalent in Europe and as to how common and how long it's been around.
Also, with mainline steam excursions in Great Brittan and Germany, are these operated under some kind of exemption? I'd assume that such equipment is not on board the steam locomotives. Thanks in Advance Victor A. In the UK, it's only just getting going really i.e. it's only in very limited use.
