Very short notice but I've just received a post from the Albatros Klub in Bratislava that their 4-8-2 Mountain 498.104 - Skoda 1955 - is off to Kosice on Friday via Zvolen, Banska Bystrica, Vrutky, Poprad and Margecany returning on April 16th. I presume its attending the Kosice rail festival over the weekend.

I chased it between Trencin and Poprad on the same occasion in 2014, it's a most impressive steam locomotive.

Beautiful locomotive. My all-American wife is of Slovak ancestry, and has relatives in Kosice; we have visited five times in the last 25 years. Sadly, our trips never coincided with the Steam Festival; I shall have to have a serious conversation with Cousin Stanislav about better scheduling of future weddings, anniversaries, and other special occasions...;>)
